Friday in the Big Town.

Tonight has been particularly exciting.

Not.

It's actually been nice and quite... Something I am a fan of after being gone to Round-Up for the last week. I love my girls, but I'm glad to be back home where I can get ready in the morning and sleep through the night without interruptions and 2 a.m. wake-up calls.

So, back to tonight, I was feeling particularly lazy since I had been gone all week with little rest, so I decided to just chill tonight (which isn't easy with this weather, haha) and read/catch up on a week of missed pinterest and Facebook/twitter.

After a few mins on pinterest, I remembered something I have been wanting to do for a while!

Pinterest Party for one, please!

Of course, I couldn't find the pin I wanted so I searched for a new one and it just may be one of my new favorite things.

It's a Brown Sugar Lemon Honey DIY Face Scrub. I found the recipe at makeupandbeautyblog.com.

It's basically made up of everything in the title.

1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Honey
Lemon juice from a 1/4 of a lemon

Mix together well and apply to face. Leave for 5 minutes or until it feels dry and rinse.

As soon as I put it on my face, I immediately began feeling a tingling sensation.

It was kinda cool... in a "I can't believe I just put honey and brown sugar on my face" way and only a little bit messy!

So far it seems to be working great! I can't really tell much other than my face is super soft!

There are a few more recipes for DIY Beauty Products on this website... Hopefully, I will get some more time to check them out. I will keep you posted! :)

Countdown Freedom

Today marks the beginning of my last event as the Caddo County 4-H Extension Educator.

Oklahoma State 4-H Round-Up is one of my favorite 4-H events for many reasons, but the main one being that it is held at my favorite place on earth. If you are thinking Stillwater, Okla., then you are 100% correct! We are housed on the beautiful Oklahoma State University campus. And, better yet, right across the street from the building where I spent my first two years of college.

I absolutely loved living in Village CASNR. I met most of my best friends there and I can't help but tell my students of the time when Big Bryce pulled Cami and Katy on the desk chairs, the hours and hours we spent roping the roping dummy in the living room and even the time Cami, Jen, Katy, Brody and I got stuck in the elevator.
This would be the desk chair pulling incident.
Living room roping lessons.
I can't believe those days were almost six years ago. It still seems like yesterday and hard to believe that I have been graduated for two years now. Being back on campus brings back a lot of good memories. From Ag Hall to the Graduate College at Whitehurst to Boone Pickens Stadium, it is easy to say this place holds a very special place in my heart.

It is safe to say that I took those days in Village CASNR for granted ... when life revolved around class, studying and going to the Tumbleweed on Thursday nights. I was so ready to graduate that I didn't stop to think about how life would change outside of the 74074. I didn't think that there would ever be a day that I had to go to lunch alone, a day where I had to schedule time to have dinner with my best friends or a day when bills, insurance, taxes, pregnancies and children were the topic of most conversations. Your friends can't come over at the drop of the hat anymore, you live more than an hour away from most friends and there is a little thing called a job that you have to show up to everyday. Yes, it is easy to say that I took college life for granted.

Now, as I get ready to go back to school at SWOSU, I know that the college life I once lived and loved isn't going to be the same at all. However, I vow to make the most of this experience and enjoy my time at SWOSU. I will try to stay away from countdowns and focus on really embracing the SWOSU college experience.

For those of you who know me, you know that I am the queen of countdowns. I have one for EVERYTHING! I even have a countdowns for other people. Seriously. There is an app for that.
Jess graduates in 283 days.
Lori is due with Tate in 16 days.
Katy is due with Chisum in 20 days.
Christmas is in 153 days.
My birthday is in 264 days.

See what I mean about everything? This is going to be hard. But, I am happy to accepted as a challenge for the next nine months.

I can do this.

the BIG announcement

I have been biting my tounge for the last couple of weeks, but it is time to finally spill the beans!

There has been some exciting new changes happening in my life and last week things were made officially official. I was given a chance to go to work for the SWOSU Athletic Department and go back to school full time starting Aug. 1st. I am so excited and extremely blessed to have this opportunity. I started my master's degree last summer and have been taking a class or two since then. I am far enough along that I will actually graduate in May! 294 days until graduation... but who is counting right? :)
It is going to be a little bit of a challenge to yell "Go Bulldogs" again, but I think I will get used to it during the many football and basketball games I will get to attend... oh and did I mention SWOSU Media Day 2012! :)

Like a tourist ...

This week, my co-worker asked me if I would like to join the Caddo County OHCE ladies on a tour of the Lawton-Ft. Sill area. Like any good employee, I was eager to spend the day in the field... and out of the office too.
The day was hot to say the least. 108 to be exact. Thankfully, we had a air conditioned bus and a nice bus driver who started the bus a few minutes before we left each stop to get it cooled down and ready to go.
We spent the morning at the Holy City. The Holy City of the Wichita's is located on the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Our tour guide gave us a nice history on the place and we even saw a couple of Mountain Boomers, which for those of you who don't know are basically little lizards. I had no idea what they were until I almost stepped on one. I named him Ernie.
After Holy City, we went to the Wildlife Refuge and then to lunch at the Old Plantation in Medicine Park.
Medicine Park might just be my favorite place on earth. It is quite quaint. It makes me feel like I am not really in Oklahoma... expect the heat reminds me that I am. After lunch, we spent a few minutes around the water and visiting with the ladies until it was time to head to Lawton to go to a couple of museums. I even saw a buffalo... it was dead and cost $50 to take a picture of it. Lucky for me, I had already taken two pictures of it when they told us the cost. Needless to say, I had to share my pictures.

Baby Baby Baby, Oh ...

Another couple of weekends have went by and with that brings more baby showers.
Liz and Paul are expecting not just one tiny, sticky human, but TWO tiny, sticky humans. I am overly excited for them and absolutely can't wait for Hadley and Hailey to make their grand entrance into the world.
A baby shower in the life of Brenna of course means crafts. I try to create one new craft per baby shower. So for this baby shower, I decided to create baby tutu's. No, it is not a new craft idea, but one that I had never attempted before.

First step, search pinterest, of course. Second step, call Mom. She knows everything. Pinterest was little help on this craft, but Mom did not disappoint and she even sewed the bows on 20 minutes before the shower. Confession. I didn't even start one of the tutu's until the morning of the shower. What was I thinking.
Gifts for twins. Diaper babies, Ranger headbands, OSU headbands and OSU Tutu. I also got them an OSU onesie and black and white socks to go with their OSU tutu's!

Thanks for the photo Kendra! :)
Elizabeth and I at her shower.
The last of the baby showers was for little Baby Harper and Nicole. I went to high school with Nicole and was so excited when I was asked to be a hostess for such an event. We had a lot of fun at the shower and even better I had another reason to do crafts. Harpers "new" craft idea was her initial sign. I admit it is a little like Tate's sign, but a little different. A little bit more girly and a little bit more colorful! She also got a tutu, but I decided that since her mommy and daddy are OU fans, I would be nice and do them and do it red and white ... with a big bow to match!

Bows, headbands, diaper cake and babies and name sign.

Nicole and I at the shower.
This pretty much sums up my summer of baby showers. Thank goodness. I need time to replenish my craft ideas so I can be ready for the next go around.
Congrats to all my new mommy and mommy-to-be friends. I am so excited to meet all of your precious babies!

Sleepless in Seattle... I mean Hinton!

I, like most people, sort of dread Monday mornings. You know the weekend fun is over and that it's just going to be another manic Monday. For me, it's usually because there were things I should have done last week, but of course put off until the last minute. Like homework which is due at 2 p.m. tomorrow and have I started yet? Actually, that's a yes, but it's only a small part considering all that has to be done! But, anyways, seeing as I have so much to do tomorrow it's only logical that I can't fall asleep tonight to save my soul. I have played on pinterest, played games, "caught up on my friends" Facebook life and even counted pig (I refuse to count sheep. Gross. Sorry Lori and Shae. :) haha) and I still can't fall asleep!

Tomorrow is a big day in my life! Look for an announcement coming soon!

A Monday Laugh

Sometimes, I just need a good laugh in the mornings and this Monday morning was no different. I have a lot going on in the next couple of weeks with work, school, etc. and these post were just what I needed to start off my day. Thank you to the random girl that I follow on Pinterest, but have never actually met in real life!

E-cards are definitely on my list of favorite things. They can somehow say the things I think in my head, but are a little too inappropriate to say. :)

This week has all the makings of a great week. Today and tomorrow are for reasons that I can't mention in writing ;) and Wednesday I am off to OKC for a little some work related shopping, Thursday I have a workshop that I am teaching and on Friday I am out of the office for another work related road trip! Add all of that to dinner with two of my best friends from high school on two different days (yes, I get super excited to see my old friends,) working on craft projects for a very exciting baby shower this weekend for Liz and Paul and lunch with my friend Karolyn! It is going to be great!

Hope you have a great Monday and if you need a laugh, check out e-cards!
Peace and Love,
B.Davis

Oh, Boy!

Like I have mentioned in several post now, there are babies being born all around me! On Saturday, June 30, my high school friend, Jesse, had a baby girl, Little Miss Zaylie Nicole. And, I have to say ... She is precious! I can't wait to meet her and visit Jesse. I had the privilege of taking Jesse's maternity pictures just a week before Zaylie arrived! Good thing we did it when we did, Jess!

Here are a couple of my favorites from her shoot!

Also on Saturday, my best friend, Cami, and I hosted a baby shower for our friends, Katy and Korey, soon to be proud parents of Little Mister Chisum. It was such a great time and I personally loved everyone getting together again! We don't get many chances to just hang out anymore, so Katy having a baby is a great excuse. Cami and I had a blast decorating for the shower. However, I am not sure Brody loved it as much seeing as how he had to climb on chairs to hang things and carry all the heavy stuff. But, thanks anyways, Brod!

We decided to go with yellow, greens and turquoise for the shower colors and of course had to add in some burlap. A party just isn't a party without some burlap... or thats my opinion anyways.

I even got my bangs cut on my back porch thanks to my bestest, Kari! And, to be honest... this is about the most normal place she has cut my hair yet! haha

The cookout/shower with friends was a success and I absolutely can't wait for Baby Chisum to get here! We all took bets on what day he would arrive. Katy isn't due until August 15, but I am pulling for Aug. 7th, soooo Baby Chisum remember that Auntie Brenna loves you and make sure you come on my day! ;)

There is a baby in there!

Crafts made:
Diaper Cake and Diaper Babies- Tutorials found here and here. There actually isn't a tutorial for the diaper babies, but this is where I got the idea.

Bow Ties- Tutorial found here. I used the majority of this tutorial to make mine, but made a few minor adjustments here and there to make it easier for myself!
