I am so excited to announce that Frilly Farm Designs is now on ETSY! It has taken me a while to get everything organized, but we are finally up and running! More thing will be posted as we go, but there are a few things there now! If you have a specific request for an item, I can make a listing specifically for you with your items!

I've been spending the last few days working on new stuff for my ETSY shop and my booth at Blossom Time Shops in Minco! {See below the things I have been working on!}

It's been quite chilly here and today it is drizzly so my photo session was canceled due to the clouds. However, I am so beyond excited for this shoot that will take place this weekend! A newborn and her parents are always a precious time! 

I think it's safe to say that apple cider is in my near future! Hope you are staying warm, blog friends!

Loyal and True-- My Heart Will Go On

Cowboys, OSU Cowboys that is, have always been and will always be my favorite. And, tonight that was no different. I have said it many times and I will say it again.. I didn't decide to go to OSU because of the athletics program and quite frankly if anyone chooses a school for that reason... Well, then they may need help. I choose my school for so many more reasons... And I am proud and happy to say I am a graduate of the state's university.

Honestly, it didn't matter if we would have won or lost tonight. Either way, I am still a proud alum. Either way, I am still going to wear orange tomorrow and I am still going to have that alumni sticker on my car come day break. I am still going to buy anything that is orange and still going to make plans to attend Homecoming 2014 with my friends.

My life as a Cowboy will go on and the pride I have in telling someone I graduated from Oklahoma State University will always go on, as well!


I didn't like the out come of this game either, but such is life and such is life as a college football fan.

A Very DIY Christmas

This year, I tried my best to do a DIY Christmas gift for almost everyone. I didn't succeed on a few, but for the most part everyone got something that I made. I love giving DIY gifts for any occasion and I love getting DIY gifts! Here are a few things I came up with to give as gifts for friends, little cousins and brother!

I love hand stamping things even though I am not that good at it yet. My little cousins love things with their names on it... so that is just what they got! They were so excited about them! That is part of the reason I love giving things I make ... its so fun to see them excited over something that I created and something they know was made just for them and no one else! They are not perfect by any means, but it adds character in my opinion! haha I have a few more things that I am really excited about, but I haven't gave them to their new owners yet ... but, once I do I will post more pictures!

Bows and Button Earrings

Today, Lucy and I ventured out to take a few Christmas pictures in the ice. However, Lucy is not the best dog to photograph. Sometimes you can trick her into looking at the camera by saying "Papa and Nana" or meowing like a cat... But, not today of course. She wouldn't look no matter what noises her Gma was making. We only took a few because Lucy was starting to shake and I must admit ... it was quite cold out there! Tomorrow we shall try again ... But, here are a couple that at least showcase a couple of the things I make and sell!

The bow is very multi-purpose ... could be used like shown here as a dog collar accessory ... or a hair bow for adults or little ones or a bow tie for a baby or toddler!

Button earrings are quickly becoming a new fad ... And, I am a fan. It took me a little while to jump on board, but how fun are these. You can easily match them to anything ... as in my case, I made them to match Lucy's bow. Our outfits are changing slightly tomorrow and so are my button earrings! :)

Wedding Crafts for Kinsey!

One of my very best friends recently asked me to make a few crafts for her wedding at the beginning of December! These were probably some of my favorite things I have made in a while and I personally thought they looked great at the wedding... Not that I am biased or anything like that! :)

Kinsey's wedding was one of my favorite weddings I have attended. It was like a pinterest board came to life. Wintery and rustic and absolutly perfect!

I didnt get a chance to take a picture of the "Here Comes the Bride" sign final product, but I have to admit, it turned out better than I thought it was going too! It was probably the hardest projects to make happen. The orginal idea was to print or paint on burlap "here comes the bride!" After failing miserably, I decided a decorated picture frame would be the easiest solution and I was running out of time to get it done before the wedding!

Thankfully, I had some burlap looking scrapbook paper on hand and designed the lettering for the sign on Indesign and hit print. It worked much better than I could have imagined and was a fun addition to the wedding!

I also made the ring bearer pillow. Although the actual ring wasnt carried on the pillow, it was still fun to make and way simple!

The garter's were part of Kinsey's personal shower gift (the rest still isnt finished, but hopefully it will all come together soon, haha) and was really fun to make! Kinsey used these as her "something blue," but you could easily do these in any color or them you wanted! I was really close to putting a glittery snowflake on Kinsey's, but I accidently glued my last snowflake on another project I was working on. Bummer.

And, finally the flower girl's basket. Can you tell Kinsey and I both love rolled burlap flowers? :)

The Small Things!

My day started off in a very un-Monday morning like way. Basically meaning, I woke up on time. Early even! I made it halfway to work and remembered, I am not going to work today, I am going shopping for food for the teen retreat! Ugh. So much for getting to work on time on a Monday! Luckily, I hadn't made the turn at the Binger-Y yet, so I headed straight for Minco and spent a little while chatting with my Mom while she worked! (Note #1 small thing!)

After that I headed to meet my counterparts at her office... But then discovered that I could go to my all time favorite shopping establishment if I drove myself... So I headed for OKC and stopped by Hobby Lobby! (Note #2 small thing!)

I then met up with Jordan and Mindy... Had lunch and then headed to Sam's! While at HobLob, I picked up some clip-on earring backs for a craft project I am working on and on my way home I thought of several things these little clips will work on and I got very excited... Maybe a little too excited for something that cost less than $1! (Yep, got them on sale! Note Small Thing #3!)

I got home mowed my lawn, watered my lawn, done some laundry, picked up my house, packed my bags and even found time for a craft project! My door needed something new. Behold new wreath! Burlap, turquoise and coral... Three of my most favorite things!

Like I mentioned, we are leaving in the a.m. to float the river... I can't swim. Not even a little. It's safe to say I am a bit nervous. But, I already decided I will be in the raft with the food so the kids won't even dare knock their food over! Anyways, back to small thing #4, I was really wanting a water-proof bag to put my phone, camera, tshirt and hat in! I knew I had one somewhere but couldn't find it and when I did... I got soooo excited. Maybe too excited. Which is what inspired this blog topic! How is it that the littlest things can make me smile the most! Like finding something you had forgot about or running into a high school friend for maybe two minutes at HobLob!

From now on... I choose not to look at Monday's as a bad thing. Monday's mean something new and great things will happen with the right attitude... And even the smallest things will make you the happy on a Monday!

P.S. Have I mentioned that I'm sooooo excited to see my friends this weekend? Because I am! Can't wait! :)

proCRAFTination

I am doing my best to enter the blogging world again. It has been a while. Almost a year, but I figured, I have so much free time on my hand these days (sarcasm) I might as well. This blog is formerly known as "Peace, Love and Extension," but I decide I wanted something a little more fun so I went with "Life Happenings in Rural America." I really, really wanted "Life Happenings in BFE," but I figured it wasnt very politically correct! Haha

So, I think my first blog back should be about my latest love interest ... Pinterest ... the best and worst thing ever invented.

Instead of Facebook, I pinterest.

A lot.

My pins include everything from green cleaning to crafts to hair tutorials. And, usually each night I find one tip, or craft or one tutorial that I just HAVE to try. Tonight, I went with The Small Things Blog messy side up-do. My hair was already curly, so I thought why not? And, I love it, by the way. I will definitely be doing it for something other than nights in front of the computer pinning. :)

Pinterest has given me so many wonderful, fun ideas for everything. And, it is an added bonus to be able to save everything right in one spot. When people ask me about pinterest, I am usually appalled that they haven’t heard of it. (It is just the best thing ever!)

The first week of October, I was asked to do a presentation to 4-H volunteers from the Southern Region. They asked it to be tied to the Home Environment 4-H Project. I knew immediately that pinterest could (and should) be tied into the presentation and was I right! The ladies in my workshop loved it and we spent over half of the workshop time playing on pinterest. It turned into more of a pinterest learning time than home environment learning time. Nevertheless, the ladies left with a new love for pinning and I left with a lot of new ideas. Every time the ladies would see a pin they liked, we discussed it and how it could be changed into something that would fit the home environment project.

Let this be a lesson to everyone, pinterest, in the right context, can be used for work purposes.

Tomorrow’s, craft night includes a ghost hair bow and packing for another conference.
