I love snow. I know that some find it annoying and I am not saying that I don't at times... especially when it becomes ice and when I fall down and hurt my shoulder, bruise the palm of my hand and skin my knee... but that is another story! Anyways, toady my neighbor and I ventured out to get some sunshine and make snowmen and snow angels, of course!
However, the snow was quite wet, so we opted to not make snow angels. Maybe next time!
We even tried to sneak attack snowball our other neighbor, but he wouldn't even come outside! Not even the huge snowman could entice him to come out! Dang.
I call the little snowman, Sammy and the big one is Ken!

Another week has passed and honestly it went by pretty quickly!
1. My week started off pretty awesome with a trip to Oklahoma City for a little shopping with my best friend, Kadie. We had a lot of fun and I didn't even break the bank! Win on both accounts. And, I found a new addition to my pig collection, but more on that in an upcoming Turquoise Tuesday post!
2. SNOW! Enough said, especially when it cancels classes. Win!
3. The Living Room is a gathering of college students at the Baptist Church each week. I absolutely love it. Each week we are posed with challenges for the upcoming week and it is such a great mid-week restart for me. And, next week we are celebrating Duck Dynasty by wearing camo to the service. Overly excited for this!
4. After living in this town for almost two months, I have finally started to venture out to try a few local restaurants. Tonight, we tried Luigi's! It was delicious. And, bonus I had enough to bring home for lunch tomorrow and probably dinner tomorrow night too! Definitely recommend trying it if you are in the 580 area!
5. With the realization of graduation being a little under 80 days away, I started preparing for the big day. And, by that I don't mean the obvious of job searching, but better yet ... designing my graduation invitations! I checked out the ones the university sells and was less than impressed with the boringness of the designs. Definitely not my personality, so I am upping the ante an making my own again for this graduation. Can't wait to see the finished product! Expect an update on this very soon!
This is not a sandwich for those of you that are faint at heart. Depending on the brand of jalapeños
you use, this sandwich could bring quite the kick. But, delicious nevertheless. I found a similar recipe for this, but I adapted it because I am quite picky and didn't want mayo or anything crazy on my sandwich!
What you will need:
Bread
Butter
Sliced Cheese
Cream Cheese
Jalapeños
Step 1:
Grab a pan and butter one side of both pieces of bread.
Step 2:
Spread the cream cheese on the other side of one piece of bread.
Step 3:
Add a few jalapeños on top of the cream cheese. (I only put about four on mine, because I don't like super spice, but do as your little heart desires.) Be brave, but not too brave! :)
Step 4:
Add the sliced cheese on top of the jalapeños. (Disclaimer: This tends to be messy if you are a rookie cook like me!)
Step 5:
Start cookin'. (Just like a normal grilled cheese!)

I realize I am a little late posting this, but I wanted to give it a try nevertheless.
For Valentine's week, my week went pretty great including a little trailer, new jewelry, sweet treats and an OSU Bedlam VICTORY! Yay!
1. Last week, I went to An Affair of the Heart with my mom and bought a little trailer. I have a love for vintage trailers. Hopefully, my next one will substantially larger and turquoise with pink curtains.
2. I was sick on Tuesday. However, it SNOWED and campus was closed at noon so it was a perfect day to be sick and stay inside and rest. I do wish I would have got to make snow angels, but hopefully this wasn't the last snow of the season! I don't think there is anything more beautiful than a fresh snow. I just love it!
3. Thursday came and went. For some it is also known as Valentine's day, but whatever! ;) My puppy, the frilly farm dog, event bought me a gift. How sweet and she knew exactly what I wanted! haha My mom and dad even sent me a little something to celebrate the day! Thanks Mom and Dad!
4. This just happened today... But, my alma mater won bedlam basketball today! Such a great day to be a Cowboy!

2. We sang this song at The Living Room last night and it reminded me as to why this is one of my favorite songs. I just love the lyrics. Its a nice reminder that no matter what, Jesus will always love you and thats better than roses that will die next week! ;)
I have a slight obsession with changing my cover photos on Facebook and header photo on Twitter. However, sometimes I can't find anything that perfectly describes my mood/thoughts at that particular moment. So, tonight (While, I am actually suppose to be taking a test!) I thought I would attempt to create a few cover photos and header photos and because I am a proponent of sharing, I thought I would upload a few of my favs for you to download. Hopefully, this will work. If not, then adjustments will be made! These are particularly for Facebook, but a few twitter pages will be attempted uploaded soon. It is amazing how much you can accomplish when you are avoiding homework! :)
As excited as I am for graduation, I admit ... I'm a little nervous. I am super thankful I have already entered the "real world" once, but I have a feeling reentering is going to be equally challenging.
I am a planner. And this is one of the first times in my life where I have no plan. Zero. Nothing. Notta. And, I am kind of coming around to the notion and being semi-okay with it. It's not easy for the Type A side of my personality, but a little challenge never hurt anyone!
Who knows... maybe I will buy that hippie van and spends some time on the road! ;)
But, in the mean time I will try to remember this... You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward.
This year I opted not to watch the Super Bowl. Instead, I watched a Golden Girls marathon and caught up on some homework with the occasional Twitter and Facebook updates. Thankfully, my friends kept me in the loop when it came to commercials this year. And, after many tweets about Dodge and "So God Made a Farmer," I had to google this commercial. Good decision on my part.
Growing up, I spent many summer days at my grandparents house. Not only did I grow up on a farm, but I grew up listening to Paul Harvey's radio talk show every day during lunch. It was something that happened everyday whether my brother and I were there or not. And, we knew that during Paul Harvey it was time to be quite. I have to admit, I enjoyed listening to it and learned much more that I thought I would. I can still remember a few of the jokes and stories and how he always ended each show with "Good Day."
For obvious reasons, I absolutely love this commercial. Paul Harvey delivered this very speech at the 1978 National Future Farmers of America Convention. I can only wish I was there to hear it in person because just watching the commercial gives me chills.
A big company spent millions of dollars to tell the story of the farmer and rancher to many people who don't know how the food they eat gets to their table and who grows the cotton to make the clothes on their backs. And, did it while supporting the National FFA Association.
It is a lifestyle many people don't understand, but one that I have been fortunate to be a part of. Agriculture has been a huge part of my life and has greatly influenced the decisions I have made to get to where I am today and I can only hope to have opportunities in the future to educate children and adults about American agriculture.
Not only does this commerical tell the story of the hard working farmer, but it reminds everyone that we are doing God's work no matter what we are doing or where we are doing it. Whether it is farming, teaching or writing blogs, we are all placed here to do God's work. (Now, figuring out what that is quite difficult for some and something I have yet to figure out 100% for myself.)
And, the fact that my Facebook and Twitter feeds were filled with more tweets and post about farming than football, just tells me that I am blessed with awesome friends.

I need someone to shape and axe handle from a Persimmon sprout, and shoe a horse with a hunk of tire; make a harness out of haywire, feedsacks and shoe scraps; who at planting time and harvest will finish his 40 hour week by Tuesday noon, then paining from tractor back, put in another 72". So God Made a Farmer... God had to have someone to ride the ruts at double speed, to get the hay in ahead of the rain clouds, and yet stop in mid field to race to help when he sees the first smoke from a neighbor's place; So God Made a Farmer... God said "I need somebody strong enough to clear trees and heave bales, and yet gentle enough to tame lambs, wean pigs and tend the pink combed pullets; who will stop his mower for an hour to splint the broken leg of a Meadow Lark;" So God Made a Farmer.... It had to be someone who would plow deep and straight and not cut corners; Somebody to seed and weed, feed and breed,rake and disk and plow and plant; plow the snow and strain the milk and replenish the self feeder and finish a hard day's work with a five mile drive to church. Somebody who would bale a family together with the soft, strong bonds of sharing,who would laugh and then sigh, and then reply with smiling eyes when his son says he wants to spend his life doing what dad does!
