High Five For Friday- March 28

It seems like the High Five For Friday Post are about the only ones I have been doing the last couple of weeks. But, I promise that is going to change next week! (Please stay tuned!) This past week was also a wonderful week, so lets get started.

1. I started the week at a t-ball game and it was so fun! Those little guys and gals are seriously so cute. My little cousin is playing and so far he is saying he loves it, which I think is true based on the smile on his face while he is playing.

2. This has been an awesome week for my little photography business. I am so excited for upcoming shoots... starting this weekend! Thank you everyone who has inquired and scheduled photos wit me for April!

3. After last weekend spent with hippie VW Vans, my obsession has more than doubled. I need one! ASAP! You can see more pictures from the weekend on my photography blog!

4. The weather seemed to snap back to winter a couple of days, but I didn't mind. I finally had a reason to wear some winter outfits that I never got around to wearing before. And, my new jewelry from last weekend too. I didn't hate it.

5. Today is pay day and Oklahoma Breakdown just came on Pandora! Need I say more?

Hope you all had a wonderful week! The weather in my area is looking to be awesome. Bring it on is all I can say.

Peace, Love and Hippie Vans

As promised, I wanted to post about the awesomely cool hippie vans I saw last weekend in Medicine Park, Okla. As fun as it was, it only more than doubled my obsession/love/want for one I can call my very own. I have been searching and scouring Craigslist, eBay, want ads, etc. all week trying to find the perfect one. It is still a work in progress. It would probably help if I knew something about motors and other mechanicy type things, but I do not. Daddy's gonna have to take the reign on this one for sure! ;)

I have an idea in my head of how I want it to look. And, by that I mean I want it to run. No just kidding, I do have some standards. Like the ability to be painted vintage light pink. I don't really want the sink and stove. However, I can take that out. Back seats would be a plus ... air conditioner would also be a plus, but the only ones I have found with a/c have been a little newer. I am not opposed to newer though, again ... as long as it runs!

The ones in Medicine Park were all different. Some vans were restored really nice and some were still used to live in/camp in. The orange one pictured below was actually restored recently and most of the outside and interior is original. I love the color. It would have to be made into the official game day cruiser to all OSU games, of course.

Until my little heart finds a van, I guess I will just look at these beauties and wait for my ship van to come in.

High Five for Friday!

I love High Five For Friday post! They are so fun and so easy... all you have to do is post five things that happened during the week and post about them. Easy enough right! I am also linking up with The Lauren Elizabeth Blog!

1. I started the week with new hair! Shelby, an friend from high school, is spectacular! I had darkish brown hair during the fall and winter. I loved it (mainly because I had been blonde most of my life), but I with spring in the air ... I was ready for a slight change. I hadn't put any lighter colors in my hair in forever, so I thought IT IS TIME! I am loving it so far! And, I had her layer the back a little more ... its volume central now! {My theory-- The higher the hair ... the closer to God!} --Please don't mind the selfie!--

2. A couple months back I joined a photography group called Pursuit 31! I had found out about the group through another photographer and was eager to join and get involved. The group is made up of creative, Christian female photographers from all over the state. On Tuesday, I was able to attend my first meet-up! It was a ball! I met so many awesome and talented ladies... and we had a painting and wine party, which was just a bonus. It is nice to build friendships with other photographers where community is the most important aspect... not competition.

I am already looking forward to the next meet-up! I know Megan is planning a really awesome shoot out!

3. While in Lawton, I ate dinner at Wayne's. If you have never been ... you should go! This was my first time. My grandparents have been eating at Wayne's since they were dating ... which was 57+ years ago! I had fish and chips per advice from the grandparents. It was delicious... although a half order would have been plenty!

4. I also spent the night at my grandparents cabin in Medicine Park. I love it there. So much, we are going back this weekend to visit. They are having an event called "V'Dubs in the Park" and I am obsessed with VW vans ... so to say I am excited would be a complete understatement!

5. Tonight, I am having a dinner/shopping date with an old college roommate and friend! I am so excited to catch up! It has been ages. Like ... since New Year's I think! Yikes!

Hope you had an awesome week!

Keep it real, friends. And, be looking for a post about V'Dub in the Park next week. I am taking my camera and new lens! Eeek!

Turquoise Tuesday

I love Tuesdays mainly because I love to share turquoise. It is my favorite thing. I have always been a fan and so today I share with you a few more favorite things.

I thought today we should talk fashion with turquoise accessories. I am not a fashion expert by any means, but I know what I like, so that is what I will share! These are also items on my wish list.

So, we start with the classic chunky turquoise rock necklace. My favorite to be honest. I wear turquoise almost everyday and this is a simple way to spice up any outfit. Dress it up or dress it down, classic chunky turquoise is your friend.

I also love the unexpected turquoise accessory. Pair it with something bright. I have a hot pink blazer and love pairing it with a turquoise necklace, earrings and bracelet. Something unexpected can always spice things up.

Statement necklaces are all the rage these days and I can see why. I love a good statement necklace. They can really add to any outfit, especially something simple. I see this paired with something with a high neckline. I kind of wish I had this in my jewelry hoarding collection!

Last, but not least lets talk about purses.

This one. I have always wanted/needed this one. It is a Coach purse, but it is from a few collections ago, but I still love it.

And, this. I love this whole outfit.

Like I said, I am not a fashion expert. In fact, probably far from it. But, I loved these finds on Pinterest and wanted to share. You can follow my boards on Pinterest

Whoops!

Apparently my mind took a break from blogging this week because I didn't post a thing allll week! I can't actually be sure that my "weekly" post even crossed my mind until today when I was driving home.

However, I am happy to report a few new happenings from this week including:

  • b.davis photography and design blog (Yay! Finally)
  • b.davis photography and design flickr account (I haven't figured out what it is, but I am still working on it!)
  • Approved to be a network photographer for "Welcome Them Home" (post on this coming soon)
  • business cards for Frilly Farm Designs arrived
  • b.davis photography is getting new business cards

Frilly Farm Girl will be back in action starting Monday with new updates including a cute baby, a sweet 16 birthday party and a one really really cute puppy.

The weather here looks a little dreary for today, so I am going to be knocking some editing out and completing a few Frilly Farm Design orders. And, drinking something warm, obviously.

Enjoy the weather no matter what kind you are having right now. If it is sunny where you are... spend some time outside. If it is cold where you are ... spend some time cuddled in your happy place. Just enjoy the moment(s) you have-- you only live this day once!

Be well, blog friends!
